Timeless Tuesday

Welcome to my first Timeless Tuesday post.  Each Tuesday, I will be featuring something that is timeless, with classic lines or features that will assure it a place in history. Something that  is practically guaranteed to never go out of style...could be a car,  a dress, jewelry, architecture...or even something new that is going to be a sure winner in the "timeless" category. It could be just about anything that is or is likely to be a "classic." So be sure to check back each Tuesday to see  the next Timeless treasure!  If you think you might be interested in participating in a Timeless Tuesday link up, let me know and I will set up a Mr. Linky widget.

Coco Chanel made it famous circa 1929 with her calf length edition.  Givenchy's version  made it all the rage when Audrey Hepburn wore one in Breakfast at Tiffany's. It is perfect for almost any event or occasion and essential for others. What is it? It is the quintessential little black dress, of course!

What better way to kick off Timeless Tuesday than with these timeless vintage "little black" dresses from some of Etsy's greatest vintage shops.  These lovely examples of the little black dress are classically cut to make them as fashionable today as when they were first worn. Most of these are truly "little" black dresses. It seems that, with few exceptions these vintage treasures are for those extra-small to small women. Ahhhh, I remember when.....

I love this beauty is from The Ruby Kitten

This Bonwit Teller dress is princess perfect in velvet from Thrush Vintage

It really could not get more classic than this mini sheath from i could be good for you

This little black cocktail dress from the 80's will turn heads...from  PinTuckStyle

What is a little black dress without the perfect pair of heels? Try these on for size at Eco Vintage Studio...

Hope you enjoyed these timeless treasures as much as I enjoyed selecting them.
Have a great Tuesday!

  3. I don't usually respond on my own blog to comments made but the comment indicator is showing 0 Comments. I was trying to see if another comment would make them appear...but doesn't work. Somethings wrong.

  4. Love this post. Isn't it interesting that classic beauty never goes out of style. All of those delicious little black dresses still look as good as they did when they were first produced. I am also "vintage," however don't think I have held up quite so well. Sigh.
