Christmas - It's Over in Some Places, But Not Here!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas this year.  Ours was lovely. I kept trying to get some photos of our decorations posted but there always seemed to be something else that needed my attention more. I am usually much later in posting.   At least it is still December this year and we are still celebrating Christmas in my house. Last year I think I posted in mid-January! Oh, the shame of it all. Ha! Anyway, here is how Christmas looked around my house this year...

I used free printables from On Sutton Place to make this arrangement over
our entryway bench. She always has the cutest printables.

The Tree

The sign over the window is from Dear Lillie but is no longer available.

I added a bottle brush tree to this antique cast iron truck and added to the buffet.

The antique jelly cupboard is topped with last year's "joy" canvas that I made for the mantel.I decided to use it here instead this year since we have art hanging over the mantel. I added our little rocking horse to the mix along with some bottle brush trees.

We used a pencil tree in the dining room and decided to use only pinecones (from Jekyll Island,) some red berries and a few old wooden ornaments.

Christmas Eve's table is set with our old, red chargers which I almost donated when we moved but I
decided to keep them just in case. I like the way they look with the ruby wine glasses. I folded the napkins to make little trees. The woodland salad plates are Better Homes & Garden plates from Walmart. They are really cute. I ordered two sets.

The Porch

The Santa with "seeds" and the snowman were gifts from my mom from years ago.

The Silent Night pillow is from Dear Lillie but is no longer being offered.
The Christmas tree pillow cover is one I made from a vintage Christmas dress.

Well, that is pretty much how our Christmas looked except for the snow in this picture. It came
a couple of weeks early. So no white Christmas for us.  It was, however, a lovely Christmas with many reminders of the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Christmas points to the source of our joy, comfort, hope and peace.  I hope yours was merry and bright.

"Christmas is an indictment before it becomes a delight.  It will not have its intended effect until we feel desperately the need for a Savior. "

Blessings,

Vicki
